Sales of existing homes in Maine and the prices paid for them continued to rise year-on-year according to latest figures.
The numbers from Maine Listings reveal statewide sales were up almost 23% last month compared to February of 2020. The median sales price (MSP) was also up by nearly 13% to stand at $244,900.
The MSP indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less.
Time on market numbers meanwhile headed in the opposite direction with homes selling much more quickly than a year ago. Days on market for last month were tracking at 21 days compared to 52 days 12 months previously.
Nationally, sales of existing single-family homes in February increased 8% compared to February 2020, and the national MSP rose 16.2% to $317,100 over that same time period.
According to the National Association of Realtors, the regional Northeast experienced a sales jump of 13.2% last month, while the regional MSP increased 20.5% to $356,000 compared to February of 2020.
