Maine recorded highest-ever home sales numbers last year with both sales volume and average prices at unprecedented levels.

Latest figures from Maine Listings indicate the number of existing homes sold statewide in 2019 was up 1.55% compared to 2018 with the median sales price (MSP) 4.65% higher at $225,000.

The MSP indicates that half of homes were sold for more and half were sold for less.

Realtors sold an historic high 18,140 last year.

Year-end statistics for last month show a whooping 23.21% increase on December of 2018 with the MSP up 7.83% to stand at $234,000.

Industry watchers continue to point to high demand, tight inventory and low interest for the upward trends.
